free attribute writes wrong string to database

hi!
i have a free attribute with datatype "string" (text).
there is also the free attribute validation plugin installed.
in backend there is no max and min size configured (s.picture)
In the shop i entered "franz, koriander" into the field, but it writes "franz koriander" (with double space) to the database
(jshopping_order_item.product_freeattributes and jshopping_order_item.freeattributes)
